DHI 3 On 3 Hockey League Rules

RULE

1

Durham Hockey Institute has final authority concerning all rules and regulations including, but not limited to, suspensions, expulsions and general discretion of conduct.

Games will consist of 2 - 25 minute periods, running clock

Penalty calls will result in a penalty shot, with the clock stopping

The league at all levels is a No contact league

1 referee per game

1 scorekeeper per game

Top 2 teams in each division will play a championship game

Bottom 2 teams in each division will play a consolation game

Goal scoring will be credited to the goal scorer and the primary assist

Only registered players on team rosters or waiting list may play

Following a scoring play the referee will submit the scorers to the time keeper. The scoring team will vacate the offensive zone, at which time the referee will blow the whistle to restart play again. There will be no face off following scoring plays and the same rules will apply for the stoppage of play due to goaltender saves

There is no center ice red line, therefore no icing calls will be used nor offside passes. Blue line is standard rules with the off side team clearing the zone in a delayed off side manner

If a team is absent a goaltender, they will skate with 4 forwards

Teams will not change ends at the half but defend the same goal for both periods

Teams will be responsible for their own line changes. DHI will provide bench coaches to enforce all rules and fair play

Penalty calls will result in a breakaway from the blue line, with all other players behind the play. Play resumes following the attempt with the referee whistle

Penalties will be enforced. A major penalty will result in eviction for the current game. Gross misconduct will result in league expulsion. Game misconduct may result in league expulsion and/or lengthy suspension
